Hebrews 11:1 Faith means being sure of the things we hope for and knowing that something is real even if we do not see it. NCV American journalist and cultural critic H.L. Mencken once said, that faith is an “illogical belief in the occurrence of the improbable.” On the contrary, Biblical faith is both rational and logical. It is based on the character and works of God as understood through general and special revelation. Faith is our response to who God is, what He has done, and what He has promised to do.
Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. ESV
