Who We Are

A regular group of people with a perfect Savior

NewLife is a group of ordinary people who have found hope in Jesus. We believe in the Gospel, the good news that God sent His son, Jesus, into the world to save men and women from sin and its terrible consequences. Jesus lived a perfect life, died on the cross as a payment for our sin and rose to life again to set us free from our sin, guilt and shame. He extends the gift of forgiveness, eternal life and joy to all who will receive it! We seek to share this good news every Sunday morning and every day in between.

What We Believe

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God. It is without error and fully reliable. It is the complete revelation of God to man and is our standard for faith and practice.

God

We believe there is one living and true God. There exists three distinct and eternal persons within the Godhead; known respectively as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and is present everywhere.

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal, pre-existent Son of God and God the Son. He died on the cross, shedding His blood, in perfect substitution and atonement for the sins of men. He was buried, and on the third day He arose bodily from the dead and is alive forever. Jesus baptizes each believer in the Holy Spirit. This baptism occurs at salvation and is not a separate work of grace.

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person; equal with God the Father and God the Son. The Holy Spirit today convicts, regenerates, indwells, guides and seals each believer in Christ, applying to them Christ’s work of Salvation.

Mankind

We believe that man came into being through the special creative act of God. Man was created in God’s image and was given dominion over the earth. He fell from his original state of innocence through his willful disobedience. As a result, God’s image in man was marred, death was introduced to the world, and the sin nature has been passed down through every generation. All people currently fit into the two categories of being either saved or unsaved.

Sin

We believe that sin is missing the mark of God’s holy standard of righteousness. Furthermore, we believe that all human beings are sinners by nature and by choice. We believe that sin is both harmful and defiling to the self, and an offense to the authority of God. Sin affects all parts of our being, alienating us from God. Man is totally unable to save himself or choose God without the work of the Holy Spirit. Only through God’s saving work in Jesus Christ can the human race be reconciled to God.

Salvation

We believe that because of sin and its effects, all of mankind needs salvation. This salvation is offered for mankind through the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. This salvation comes to the individual by the grace of God through faith in Jesus. Salvation is not earned from works or good deeds. Upon conversion, a saved person is justified and declared righteous by God.

The Church

We believe the Church is made up of all people who have been born of God’s Spirit, past and present, who meet in local congregations all over the world. The local church is an assembly of believers associated by a covenant of faith and New Testament principles. They gather for the purpose of worship, discipleship, fellowship and mission.

Last Things

We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe that only God the Father knows the time of Christ return. This encourages hopeful expectancy and motivates the believer to godly living, sacrificial service, and energetic mission. We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and unsaved at their respective times, the final judgment, and the assigning of unbelievers to eternal conscious punishment and the believer to eternal blessedness and joy with the Lord in the new heaven and the new earth.

Leaders and Staff

NewLife Church is an elder-led church. We are led by a team of servant leaders, known as elders or pastors, who share responsibility for leading the church. Though they have different gifts, passions, and responsibilities, they lead the church as a team of equals, whether on staff or in a “lay” (unpaid) position.
